The Problem

Hyundai Korea requested that a global shopping experience website template be created using Adobe Experience Manager. For the initial phase of the project, IBMix in Korea created a new proposed design based on discovery phase activities conducted in Korea.
Innocean agency created a new proposed design for the American market.
Hyundai requested the migration of hyundaiusa.com to a Web Content Management solution and creation of HMA template for Hyundai sites around the globe.

The Resolution

For the next phase of the discovery phase, Hyundai Korea (HMC) asked that we conduct a discovery phase in order to gather business/functional requirements from Hyundai USA’s proposed designs.
We were asked to validate high-level Business Requirements across business units and conduct Solution Fit-Gap analysis. Also, define master templates and components.

Was the UX lead who took current designs from 2 different markets and performed a gap analysis identifying features/functional requirements and identified common and unique features. Part of the GAP analysis was not only listing features but also creating site maps to compare the user flows of each. Once approved, I created modules and sub-modules for the AEM platform.

Our IBMix team consisted of 6 people, 4 from IBMix in Korea and 2 from IBMix out of Chicago.
Throughout the engagement, we collaborated with Hyundai USA (HMA) team and Hyundai  AutoEver America (HAEA) team.

Tasks included the following:

  • Define High-level Solution Architecture and identify key Architectural Decisions.

  • Identify Solution Components Inventory for Implementation Phase for ‘Vehicles’, ‘Build & Price’, and ‘Why Hyundai’ tabs.

  • Define Master Templates and Components for common Solution components; and Specific Components for individual departments or solution elements.

The  deliverables for this effort included the following:

  • 3 GAP analysis documents

  • 1 functional requirements design report

  • New branding color palette

  • High fidelity designs for the new global brand
